Enjoying Malay Food at Hajah Maimunah

We both miss Indonesian or Nasi Padang and Hajah Maimunah is the first thought. That was our second time coming here. Previously, when we planned to eat here, the place was renovated and last time when I went to Fluff Bakery and passed the restaurant, the renovation had finished. My husband was so excited when I told him the news.

Like eating at the hawker centre, we did chop our table with our belongings like tissue or umbrella. We got a table for four at level one. It had two levels for visitors. After chopping the table, we both went outside to the right and entered the serve hall. The queue was not crazy because it was 11am.

There were so many yummy food at the display and usually there would be a lady asking whether you want to eat the rice mixed with vegetables or separated. We picked the separated one and started to pick our dish.

At the end of the line, there was a waiter who had waited for us to help bringing our food to our table. And then we paid for our food.

The chili itself didn't taste so spicy but a bit sour, and the black sotong tasted really good. Sadly the petai ikan bilis was disappointing, The petai aka stinky beans were a bit raw. So it tasted bitter. Eating this dish, you should pick cassava leaves too. From all of the dishes we picked, we loved sambal tempe and cassava leaves. The two dishes were so perfect and they were not enough for both of us.

Hajah Maimunah also serves traditional cakes and snacks that couldn't be resisted. The price for a piece of cake is $0,80 and $3,50 for 5 pieces. My husband picked three of those cakes (self service) and they were all delicious.

Coming back here is always our favourite. Who doesn't love fast service, friendly people yet delicious food? We got them here. This is definitely a perfect place to enjoy your meal especially for those of you who love Indonesian food or Nasi Padang.
